Situated Mindfulness

About

In a two-year design-based research project with over 63 participants, a mobile app was designed to explore how an app could support mindfulness throughout everyday life. Rooted in the mechanics of contemplative sciences, this study sought to explore new forms of mindfulness practices supported by mobile computing that is increasingly mediating our interactions with the world around us. The research is focused on contributing design principles and findings that may inform the quantified-self, persuasive technology, contemplative, and broader human-computer interaction communities.
